A letter to Representative Todd Aiken

I wanted to let you know that I appreciate the fact that you actually represent your constituents. The NO vote on the bail out was the only responsible course of action. The crisis took a long time to come about and a fix for it does not need to be rushed in to. I believe that there are many other and better ways to repair the damage that has been done and all of them start with PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. If we want to blame this crisis on the sub prime market than we are all being fooled. Anybody who has payed any attention over the past ten years knows that housing is not the only reason. It is a big problem, don't get me wrong, but energy independence and growth of our GNP via job creation and investment in new technology are the only things that will put us back on top of the global economy. We need a representative who will announce to our country that we are not going to go quietly into that good night but we will stand and fight. We have the greatest minds in the world right here at home and our resources of labor are undeniable. If we could save the world in the 40's and put a man on the moon in the 60's while through it all staring down the barrel of a Soviet cannon, we can certainly come back from this bump in the road. We will recover and we will come out of this with a restored sense of leadership, one that will move us into a future that we will all be proud of.
